The Investment Company Institute is holding its Second Annual Investment Company Directors
Conference, September 21-22, 1995 at the Stouffer Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The Institute also is sponsoring a half-day New Directors Workshop immediately preceding the
Conference on Wednesday afternoon, September 20, 1995. Enclosed is the final brochure describing the
program for both of these events.
In addition to the events listed on the enclosed brochure, we are pleased to announce that the
Honorable Jack Fields, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Finance, will
address conference attendees on Thursday, September 21. The luncheon speaker on Thursday will be
David S. Broder, the Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated columnist and political correspondent for The
Washington Post. And, as noted in the program, The Honorable Warren Rudman, former U.S. Senator
from New Hampshire and an independent director of a number of mutual funds, will be our featured
speaker following the reception and dinner that will be held at the Corcoran Gallery of Art on Thursday
evening.
The Conference itself will feature a varied program of industry experts, government officials and
experienced fund directors sharing their perspectives on issues of interest and concern to the fund
director community, and will afford ample opportunity for small group discussions. The Workshop will
present topics of particular interest to directors who are comparatively new to the fund industry.
Attendance at the Conference and Workshop is limited to directors, officers and employees
of Institute members, and will be limited to a total of 250 persons at the conference and 100 at the
Workshop. Until August 21, registration for both the Conference and Workshop will be open only
to currently serving directors of Institute member investment companies. Registration forms
received from other Institute member representatives prior to August 21 will be held until that
date and then processed on a first-come, first-served basis as space permits. The Institute requests
that registrations be received by September 11. All registrations will be confirmed by mail .
Registration for the Conference includes a luncheon and the above-mentioned dinner on
Thursday, September 21 and a luncheon on Friday, September 22. Registration for either the Conference
or the Workshop includes a reception on Wednesday evening, September 20. Written materials are being
prepared for both Conference and Workshop attendees. Because hotel space is expected to be very
tight in Washington during September, we suggest that you call the Mayflower Hotel for
reservations as soon as possible (202/347-3000). Note that the cutoff date for the preferred room
rate is August 30, 1995.
