IMPLEMENTATION OF U.S.-JAPAN AGREEMENT

June 21, 1995 TO: INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE No. 13-95 RE: IMPLEMENTATION OF U.S.-JAPAN AGREEMENT ______________________________________________________________________________ As we have previously informed you, the government of Japan has taken a number of steps to implement the changes called for in the U.S. - Japan Financial Services Agreement announced in January, 1995. See, e.g., Memorandum to International Members No. 4-95 and Investment Adviser Members No. 14-95, dated March 15, 1995. Attached is a schedule prepared by the U.S. Treasury Department describing the progress that has been made in implementing the various provisions of the Agreement. The schedule lists the commitments made by Japan, the implementation timetable, if any, specified in the Agreement, and the progress made in implementing the commitments as of June 1, 1995.
