IRS SEMINARS ON INFORMATION REPORTING

June 22, 1995 TO: CLOSED-END FUND MEMBERS No. 21-95 OPERATIONS MEMBERS No. 30-95 TAX MEMBERS No. 31-95 TRANSFER AGENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 35-95 UNIT INVESTMENT TRUST MEMBERS No. 32-95 RE: IRS SEMINARS ON INFORMATION REPORTING ______________________________________________________________________________ The Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") has released the 1995 schedule for Information Reporting Seminars conducted by the Martinsburg Computing Center. According to the attached notice announcing the seminars, their format will differ from that of prior years' presentations. Unlike past seminars, no representative of the IRS Chief Counsel's Office will be present to answer questions concerning Form 1099 filings. Morning sessions will focus on magnetic media changes to Form 1099 filing requirements, a walkthrough of Publication 1220, rules governing backup withholding and penalties and reconciliation of Form 941 with Forms W-2 and W-3. The afternoon session will deal with Form W-2 magnetic media filing and filing Forms 1042. The attached announcement lists the cities and dates for the seminars.
