As we have previously informed you,* the Institute is sponsoring a one-day workshop for
investment company directors and trustees on Tuesday, April 18, at the Hotel Inter-Continental in
Chicago. The workshop is designed for fund directors who are relative newcomers to the industry.
There is still time to register for what promises to be an excellent program.
Speakers for the workshop will include John Haire, Chairman of the Committee of Independent
Directors, Dean Witter; Thomas Lemke, General Counsel, Strong/Corneliuson; Steven Paggioli,
Executive Vice President, Wadsworth & Associates; and Richard Phillips, Partner, Kirkpatrick &
Lockhart. Barry Barbash, Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange CommissionGs Division of
Investment Management is our luncheon speaker and will discuss SEC inspections and compliance
issues.
Attendance at the workshop is limited to directors, officers and employees of Institute members.
