The theme of this year’s conference -- "Is the Retirement System in Crisis--Challenging the Conventional Wisdom" will explore the role of defined contribution plans, especially 401(k) plans and other salary reduction plans, in the retirement planning of the aging "baby boom" generation. In addition there will be a vendor sales and services exhibition. The conference will also cover: trends in the 401(k) market and their impact on fund marketing and delivery systems; the small employer plan market; withholding and reporting issues; voice response systems/participant communications; mutual fund strategic alliances; section 403(b) plans; and current legislative and regulatory developments. An addition this year is a panel of press representatives who will give us a Fourth Estate perspective on the retirement system.
