RE: Joint Winter Committee Meetings Reminder #3

It's not too late to register for the Institute's Joint Winter Committee Meetings being held at the Westin
LaPaloma Hotel in Tucson January 17-20. Many of you have made hotel reservations but have not sent
your registration fee to the Institute. If you have not, kindly return the attached registration form to the
Institute's conference division.
The conference hotel is now booked so we have arranged for another hotel, the Westward Look Resort
(10 minute drive from the Westin LaPaloma). The rate is $130 single/double. The telephone number is
(602)297-1151. In order to receive the above special rate, you must identify yourself as attending the
Investment Company Institute Meeting.
Enclosed are draft agendas for the main program as well as for each of the Committees. Many of the
meetings are open unless otherwise indicated on the schedule. In addition, the general sessions will be
lively and informative with Tom Petruno, LA Times, and Eric Schurenberg, Money Magazine, back for a
second round to follow up on last year's provocative panel. Matt Fink will bring us up-to-date on what
to expect from Washington with the resurgent Republican Congress. Also Dr. Doug Bernheim, noted
Stanford University Economist, will integrate his work on retirement savings and financial literacy for
our industry.
We have checked the long range weather forecast and, despite all previous experiences with this meeting,
there will be good weather in Arizona for us. We hope to see you there.
