TASK FORCE ON INVESTMENT ADVISER/DISTRIBUTOR TAX ISSUES
RE: NOVEMBER 9TH MEETING TO DISCUSS IRS AUDITS

The Institute has formed a task force to address tax issues
of particular interest to investment advisers and distributors.
The task force's first meeting will focus on current developments
concerning the IRS position that an investment advisor's costs to
obtain management contracts should be capitalized. In addition,
the meeting will discuss IRS questions regarding the proper tax
treatment of management fee waivers and expense reimbursements.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 1994 at
the Institute's offices at 1401 H Street, NW, Washington, DC,
beginning at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served following the
meeting.
