August 17, 1994 TO: BOARD OF GOVERNORS NO. 80-94 FEDERAL LEGISLATION COMMITTEE NO. 23-94 FEDERAL LEGISLATION MEMBERS NO. 20-94 INVESTMENT ADVISERS COMMITTEE NO. 45-94 MEMBERS - ONE PER COMPLEX NO. 59-94 PENSION COMMITTEE NO. 25-94 SEC RULES COMMITTEE NO. 93-94 TAX COMMITTEE NO. 27-94 RE: Government Affairs Network: Information Requested __________________________________________________________ The Institute's Legislative Affairs Department is updating its Government Affairs Network database and is requesting important information concerning your willingness to meet with or contact Members of Congress and other senior policy makers on behalf of the Institute. The Government Affairs Network provides the Institute with additional legislative and administrative advocacy power when vital issues that affect the investment company industry are considered by Congress and the Administration. Regional Legislative Working Groups are made up of Institute members in specific geographic regions and enable the Institute to organize legislative efforts at the regional/district level. Government Affairs Issue Groups enable us to keep you informed about legislative issues in which you have a specific interest. Please be assured that the information you provide will be used for internal organizational purposes only. Under no circum- stances will any Member of Congress or Administration official be contacted on your behalf without your permission and prior consultation. Please take a few minutes to fill out the attached survey and return it to Kathleen Bovello, Director - Legislative Communications, at the Institute at your earliest convenience. (If you responded to last year's Government Affairs survey, a copy of your 1993 survey information is attached). As always, your willingness to participate in the Institute's Government Affairs program is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please call me at 202/326-5890.
