RE: TWO ADVERTISING/MARKETING SEMINARS LEFT THIS YEAR
__________________________________________________________
There are two Advertising/Marketing seminars yet to be held this
year to help newcomers to fund marketing and communications learn
the basics. These regional one-day seminars will feature
presentations on the legal, creative, and strategic aspects of
marketing mutual funds directly to consumers, as well as through a
sales force. Speakers will include Thomas Pappas, Assistant
Director, Advertising and Investment Companies Regulation, at the
National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD), as well as
industry legal and marketing executives. These presentations will
be designed to assist:
* newcomers to the fund industry;
* those who are new to the marketing function;
* non-marketing executives who are seeking greater
familiarity with the marketing function; and
* sales/marketing/public relations executives who have
not recently attended these seminars and are seeking a
"refresher" course.
Registration for these seminars will be limited to employees of ICI
member organizations and their advertising/design/public relations
agencies. Non-members of the Institute will be required to supply
a letter from the Institute member with which they have a business
relationship. Please register early, as space will be limited and
it may not be possible to accommodate walk-in registrations.
Topics to be Covered
The program of this seminar is designed to provide basic
information on various aspects of mutual fund marketing, with the
goal of providing ideas which attendees may integrate into their
own marketing programs. A preliminary agenda for the New York
seminar is attached (speakers will vary at each of the locations).
The Investment Company Institute reserves the right to alter this
agenda as is necessary.
The seminars will begin at 9:30 a.m., and end at approximately 4:15
p.m. Lunch will be served.
