February 18, 1994 TO: BANK BROKER/DEALER ADVISORY COMMITTEE NO. 6-94 RE: MARCH 8, 1994 MEETING - TRAVEL CONSIDERATIONS DUE TO NEW DENVER AIRPORT __________________________________________________________ Stapleton Airport in Denver will be closing its doors at 8:00 pm on March 8, 1994 for the final time in order to make way for the new Denver International Airport which will open at 6:00 am on March 9, 1994. The office of public affairs for the Stapleton Airport has informed us that while the airport will remain open until 8:00 pm, they have requested that the airlines reduce their volume of incoming and outgoing flights starting at 1:00 pm. Unfortunately, this may cause travel difficulties for some of the attendees at the March 8 meeting of the Bank Broker/Dealer Advisory Committee. Enclosed is a list of nonstop flights out of Denver on the afternoon of March 8. There are some connecting flights available as well. In addition, we called a number of airlines regarding their general flight plans. They are as follows: American - All regularly scheduled flights will operate. Continental - Some flights on the afternoon of March 8 and the morning of March 9 have been cancelled. All flights currently scheduled will operate. Northwest - All regularly scheduled flights will operate. TWA - Some flights on the afternoon of March 8 and the morning of March 9 have been cancelled. All flights currently scheduled will operate. United - Most flights will not operate to or from Denver after 1:00 pm CST on March 8. U.S.Air - Some flights have been cancelled. All flights currently scheduled will operate. -2- We have arranged to extend our hotel arrangements with the Westin Hotel - Tabor Center to include the night of March 8, 1994 for anyone that chooses to stay over. The room rate is $115 single/double per night. To make room reservations, call the hotel at 303/572-9100 and request a room in the Investment Company Institute block. We encourage you to attend the meeting despite the airport change over. We have an excellent agenda prepared for March 8, and First Trust and Norwest Bank have planned very informative tours for March 7. Please feel free to call Diane Butler at 202/326-5847 with any questions you may have.
