The Treasury Department is soliciting public comment on the extent to
which foreign countries deny national treatment to U.S. financial services
firms, and on foreign laws and practices that result in the denial of equal
competitive opportunity. The information will be used in preparing the 1994
National Treatment Study.
A copy of the Treasury release is attached. Comments are due no later
than October 29, 1993. Please forward any comments you may have on the denial
of national treatment or equal competitive opportunity to U.S. investment
managers to the undersigned no later than October 15 for inclusion in the
Institute’s comment letter.
