RE: ADVERTISING/MARKETING SEMINARS--BOSTON SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED
__________________________________________________________
The attached program lists topics and speakers for the
Institute's May 5 Advertising/Marketing seminar to be held at The
Colonnade Hotel in Boston. Also included is registration
information on the final 1993 seminar to be held in New York.
The Boston program is the second seminar of the Institute's
eighth annual series of seminars on mutual fund advertising and
marketing topics for newcomers to fund marketing and
communications. This series of regional one-day seminars
features presentations on the legal, creative, and strategic
aspects of marketing mutual funds directly to consumers, as well
as through a sales force and in the bank environment. Speakers
include senior representatives of the Department of Advertising
at the National Association of Securities Dealer, Inc. (NASD), as
well as industry legal and marketing executives and outside
experts. These presentations will be designed to assist:
* newcomers to the fund industry;
* those who are new to the marketing function;
* non-marketing executives who are seeking greater
familiarity with the marketing function; and
* sales/marketing/public relations executives who have
not recently attended these seminars.
Registration for these seminars will be limited to employees of
ICI member organizations and their advertising/design/public
relations agencies. Non-members of the Institute will be
required to supply a letter from the Institute member with which
they have a business relationship. Please register early, as
space will be limited and it may not be possible to accommodate
walk-in registrations.
Topics to be Covered
The program of this seminar is designed to provide basic
information on various aspects of mutual fund marketing, with the
goal of providing ideas which attendees may integrate into their
own marketing programs. A preliminary agenda is attached. The
Investment Company Institute reserves the right to alter this
agenda as is necessary.
The seminars will begin at 9:30 a.m., and end at approximately
4:00 p.m. Lunch will be served.
