IRS EXTENDS MARCH 15 FILING DEADLINE FOR BLIZZARD VICTIMS

March 17, 1993 TO: TAX COMMITTEE NO. 14-93 ACCOUNTING/TREASURERS COMMITTEE NO. 15-93 OPERATIONS COMMITTEE NO. 11-93 TRANSFER AGENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE NO. 21-93 RE: IRS EXTENDS MARCH 15 FILING DEADLINE FOR BLIZZARD VICTIMS __________________________________________________________ The IRS has announced relief for corporate taxpayers that were unable to file federal tax returns due by March 15, 1993 because of last weekend's snow storm. These returns will be due instead on March 31, 1993. The complete text of IRS News Release No. 93-30 is as follows: IRS GIVES TAX RELIEF TO BLIZZARD VICTIMS Washington -- Internal Revenue Service today granted relief to corporate taxpayers who are unable to meet the Mar. 15 filing deadline because of last weekend's snow storm. According to IRS, these taxpayers have until Mar. 31 to file and pay the federal tax or to file an extension that would have been due on Mar. 15, the due date for calendar year corporate returns. This relief is available to taxpayers directly affected by the storm, as well as those whose returns are completed by preparers affected by the storm.
