May 29, 1992 TO: PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE NO. 20-92 RE: MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS __________________________________________________________ 1. Thought you would be interested in the attached article on crisis communications. I would also like to remind you to send me your suggestions for theoretical crisis scenarios that we might cover during our mini-seminar on crisis management at the committee meeting on June 26. 2. The article on changes of key people on the New York Times business staff is enclosed in case you missed it. As you probably know, Deputy Business Editor Karen Arenson has been a judge for our journalism awards competition twice during the five years that we have run this program. 3. Also, the recent announcement that Wall Street Journal Executive Editor Norman Pearlstine is leaving the paper leaves our friend Paul Steiger, the Managing Editor, completely in charge of the news side of the Journal. Steiger has also been a judge for our journalism awards two different years. We hope to see you in New York City on June 26. Best regards, Erick Kanter Vice President, Public Information and Marketing
