RE: MAY 6, 1992 MEETING ON SECTION 4982 ISSUES

At the most recent meeting of the Tax Committee, a
subcommittee was created to identify current issues under the
excise tax distribution requirements of Code Section 4982 and the
post-October loss regulations and to develop proposed solutions.
All members of the Tax and Accounting/Treasurers Committees are
invited to participate on this subcommittee and attend its first
meeting, which will be held at the Institute on Wednesday, May 6,
1992 at 10:00 a.m. Following the meeting, lunch will be served.
Please contact Berlaunder Barnes at 202/955-3518 by Friday, May 1
if you plan to attend the May 6 meeting.
Members are encouraged to send to me by May 1 examples of
issues that have arisen under section 4982 that should be
discussed at the meeting. Copies of these examples will then be
distributed to meeting participants prior to May 6.
