MISSOURI PROPOSES REGISTRATION RULE CHANGES

| Print
February 18, 1992 TO: UNIT INVESTMENT TRUST COMMITTEE NO. 9-92 RE: MISSOURI PROPOSES REGISTRATION RULE CHANGES __________________________________________________________ The Missouri Securities Division has proposed an amendment to 15 CSR 30-50.030(2)(A)(5) to provide that the fees for registration of unit investment trusts will be the same as those pertaining to corporate issuers of securities rather than the indefinite registration provisions available to investment companies. Currently, a sponsor of a unit investment trust may register an indefinite amount of securities and pay a fee of 1/20th of 1% of the actual amount of securities sold in Missouri. The minimum fee is $100 and the maximum fee is $3,000. The proposed amendment would require a sponsor to register a definite amount of securities and pay a registration fee of 1/20th of 1% of the aggregate amount registered, with a minimum fee of $100 and a maximum fee of $1,000. A copy of the proposed amendment is attached. Please provide me with any comments you would like included in the Institute's comment letter by Friday, February 27, 1992. We will keep you advised of developments. Patricia Louie Assistant General Counsel Attachment
