TO: Closed-End Investment Company Committee RE: Reminder: Fall Closed-End Investment Company Committee Meeting - Wednesday, November 16 at 10 am (Eastern Time) at New York University
As previously noted, the next meeting of the Closed-End Investment Company Committee will take place in person on Wednesday, November 16 at New York University's Wasserman Center for Career Development (133 East 13th Street, Second Floor, New York, NY 10003). The meeting will begin promptly at 10:00 am (ET) and should end no later than 1:00 pm (ET). Lunch will be served.
We are pleased to have attorneys from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP join us to examine closed-end fund regulatory developments. Among other things, they will discuss relevant considerations for the annual investment advisory contract review process and provide an update on closed-end fund activist shareholder litigation.
Attached is a draft agenda for the meeting. We will circulate a final agenda with meeting materials to registered participants on Friday, November 11.
If you have not done so, please register for the meeting at https://cvent.me/l5AN2Z. When you register, please indicate any questions or topics you would like our guest speakers to address, along with any topics you would like to discuss with other members at the meeting.
Please note that ICI will be holding a "Spotlight on Closed-End Funds" event following the committee meeting beginning at 2 pm at the same venue. The event is designed to educate the general public about closed-end funds—how they operate, how they might benefit investors, and what some of their most pressing issues are. It will feature three panels, a fireside chat with Former Securities and Exchange Commissioner Robert Jackson, and a networking reception.
In addition, ICI will hold its annual Closed-End Fund Conference on November 17 at the Convene Center at One Liberty Plaza in New York City. The conference will feature industry experts discussing the most recent regulatory and market developments affecting closed-end funds. For more information about and to register for the Spotlight event and/or the annual conference, please visit ICI's website at www.ici.org/events/22-cef.
If you have questions about the meeting, the Spotlight event, the conference, or if you have additional agenda items to suggest, please contact Nadia Ishmael at (202) 326-5811 or at nadia.ishmael@ici.org.
We look forward to seeing you in November!
