Global Regulated Funds Committee - Asia SUBJECTS: International/Global RE: ASIC Invites Feedback on the Asia Region Funds Passport

In July 2022, the Joint Committee (JC) of the Asia Region Funds Passport (ARFP) agreed to commence a review of the ARFP as provided for in the Memorandum of Cooperation, which governs the implementation and operation of the ARFP. The review will cover the current arrangements and also seek feedback from the asset management industry in each of the member economies, namely, Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand and Thailand, about using the ARFP.

On 24 October, the Australia Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) invited the Australian funds management industry to contribute to this review of ARFP through a short survey,[1] which will close on 15 November 2022. The survey seeks responses to questions in relation to:

  • Level of interest and/or preparedness to participate in the ARFP;
  • Factors informing the decision to participate in the ARFP; and
  • Interests in participating in industry sessions as part of future JC meetings.
