On Wednesday, February 9 at 9:00 a.m. (Tuesday, February 8 at 8:00 p.m. EST), ICI will host a workshop for members to discuss questions, approaches, and challenges to implementing the MAS Guidelines on Environmental Risk Management for Asset Managers.

The Guidelines set out MAS' supervisory expectations for financial institutions' governance, risk management, and disclosure of environmental risk, and align with the TCFD framework. The Guidelines were finalized in December 2020, and firms have until June 2022 to implement the Guidelines. ICI's summary of the final Guidelines can be found at: https://www.ici.org/memo33009.
We have already received member questions related to how materiality should be defined under the Guidelines, and how this materiality assessment should be performed for fixed income.
If you have additional questions, challenges, or interpretations of the Guidelines for discussion with other members at the workshop, please send them to me.
To have a robust discussion, we encourage you to share this invitation with colleagues at your firms who are responsible for implementing the practical aspects of the Guidelines, and those who ensure compliance with MAS rules.
