As we previously informed you, the next meeting of the ICI Global Regulated Funds Committee will be held virtually on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. US Eastern / 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. GMT. The preliminary agenda is attached.

We are pleased to announce that Damien Shanahan, Senior Advisor and Head of Emerging Regulatory Issues at the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), will speak about IOSCO's workstreams related to financial stability and asset management, including: (1) FSB's work on the resilience of money market funds and the short-term funding markets; (2) corporate bond markets and open-end fund liquidity risk management; and (3) the workstream on margin, including how margin practices affect liquidity flow and liquidity friction across the financial system.
We will have ample opportunity for Q&A and discussion. Members are also invited to submit questions to me ahead of time at emykolenko@ici.org. In addition, Mr. Shanahan has asked members to consider whether they have recommendations for reforming the short-term funding markets, including insights about the differences between the funding markets in the US and EU (what works/what doesn't).
The meeting will also include a presentation on ICI Global's recently released research perspective on Ongoing Charges for UCITS in the European Union, as well as an update on key global regulatory and policy developments.
