The next meeting of the ICI Global Regulated Funds Committee will be held virtually on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. US Eastern / 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. GMT. A calendar invitation was sent to you previously, but we ask that you please register for the meeting through this Cvent link https://cvent.me/BQa2B5. Registration allows us to better track participation and provides you with the opportunity to submit questions ahead of time.
A preliminary agenda for the meeting is attached. The meeting will begin with a presentation on China - Opportunities and Challenges for Global Fund Managers, by Karl Egbert, a partner at Baker & McKenzie LLP. Karl's presentation will be followed by Q&A; we encourage you to submit any questions you may have on this topic when you register for the meeting.
We will next have guest speakers from the Embassy of Japan, who will discuss Japan's new policy initiatives to attract foreign asset management firms. Again, please submit any questions.
The meeting will also include an update on European regulatory and policy developments, as well as an opportunity for open member discussion. We hope you can join us.
