ESG-Related Workstreams: Members Invited to Participate

SEC Rules Committee RE: ESG-Related Workstreams: Members Invited to Participate

 

ICI is launching two workstreams related to ESG disclosures, and we would like to know if you are interested in participating in either (or both) of these efforts.

1. Public Company Disclosure Working Group. This working group will develop ICI’s response to Acting Chair Lee’s request for public input on public company disclosure.[1] Comments are due June 14, and we anticipate scheduling biweekly 90-minute calls. The first meeting will be on April 8 at 11:00 a m ET. Dorothy Donohue, Deputy General Counsel – Securities, will lead this effort.
   
   If you would like to actively contribute your firm’s views on biweekly calls for purposes of developing ICI’s response, please email Monique Curtis at monique.curtis@ici.org and you will be included on the invitation list for the working group calls. Please note that if you are unable to commit to actively participating on the biweekly calls, you still will have an opportunity to provide input when we circulate a draft comment letter to all members of the SEC Rules Committee, ESG Advisory Group, and ESG Task Force for review. 

2. ESG Fund Disclosure Working Group.  ICI is forming a second working group to develop recommendations for ESG-related fund disclosures, intended to educate and influence comments of the Division of Investment Management’s disclosure review staff and any future regulatory disclosure proposal(s). We are looking for volunteers to join the working group and welcome members with knowledge about SEC disclosure requirements; the EU’s ESG-related disclosure requirements for asset managers and funds; and/or product development and/or marketing. The working group will meet every two weeks for 90-minute calls, and we are asking members of the working group to be active participants. The first meeting will be on April 14 at 11:00 am ET.

Annette Capretta, Associate General Counsel, will lead this effort.
