Committee Call to Discuss ICI Meetings with CFTC Leadership and Plans for Future Engagement

November 5, 2019 TO: Registered Fund CPO Advisory Committee RE: Committee Call to Discuss ICI Meetings with CFTC Leadership and Plans for Future Engagement

 

As we previously informed you, ICI had a series of meetings last month with senior leaders at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. We met first with Chairman Heath Tarbert to discuss his priorities for the Commission and ICI’s perspectives on CFTC regulation. We then had separate meetings with Josh Sterling, Director for the Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight (DSIO); Commissioner Rostin Behnam; Commissioner Dan Berkovitz; and senior staff from Commissioner Dawn Stump’s office. 

To provide you with a readout from these meetings, ICI will host a committee conference call on Tuesday, November 12 from 1-2 pm Eastern. We also will discuss ICI’s plans for future engagement, particularly with DSIO. We hope that members participating on the call will share their views and priorities regarding such engagement. 

If you would like to propose any additional topics for discussion, please contact us by Friday, November 8. 

You will receive an Outlook appointment for this call. If you plan to participate, please accept the appointment.  Having an accurate head count will help us avoid a situation in which there are not enough lines for all participants.
