We are pleased to announce a new committee, the Global Advocacy Coordination Advisory Committee.   The committee’s objective is to coordinate advocacy engagements with global and regional policymakers carried out by ICI staff and members. 

The committee will provide a forum for timely exchange of information about advocacy engagements.  We envision that ICI staff will update the committee members on their recent and upcoming outreach to policymakers and members will share about their advocacy efforts.  For additional information on committee membership and meetings, see below. 

Inaugural Call -- 6 November, at 17:00 GMT/12 p.m. EST.

Additional Committee Information 

Membership Information 

Members may designate their policy and government/public affairs staff (legislative and regulatory) to join this committee, or any other staff who is closely involved with their firm’s advocacy efforts.  A firm may designate more than one person to join the committee. 

Key Issues of Interest 

The committee will cover topics on which we are currently engaging which include: 

  • Upcoming EU priorities for the European Commission, Council, and the Parliament
  • Sustainable finance
  • Third country issues
  • Capital markets union
  • Tax (e.g., country-by country-reporting)
  • Financial stability
  • ETFs
  • Promoting the role of investments funds in long-term and retirement savings (e.g., Pan-European Personal Pension product)
  • UCITS, AIFMD, and MiFID II reviews 

Meetings 

Initially, we envision a monthly conference call, possibly supplemented by a quarterly in-person meeting in London or in another location.
