October 15, 2019 TO: ICI Global Tax Committee
Management Company Tax Subcommittee
Tax Committee RE: Digitalisation of the Economy Tax Issues Working Group -- Conference Call on October 24

The next conference call of the working group on the “tax challenges” arising from the “digitalizing” economy will be held on Thursday October 24 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am (Eastern). During the call, we will discuss the OECD’s recently released proposal for a “unified approach” on the allocation of international taxing rights (i.e., Pillar One)[1] and develop a plan for advancing the industry’s interests.

To remind, the OECD initiative is NOT limited to digital companies.[2]  Every asset manager with cross-border activities can expect to be impacted by the initiative’s broad scope.  The precise impact will depend on the OECD’s final product—both in general and with respect to the unique aspects of asset management.

A calendar invite with call in details will be sent to the working group and Management Company Tax Subcommittee members. Please contact Ruth Tadesse (rtadesse@ici.org or 202-326-5836) if you are not part of the working group or subcommittee and would like to join the call.
