April 12, 2019 TO: Closed-End Investment Company Committee RE: Reminder:  Register for the Closed-End Investment Company Committee Meeting on Tuesday, April 23

 

As previously noted, an in-person meeting of the Closed-End Investment Company Committee is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 at ICI’s office in Washington, DC (1401 H Street, NW).  The meeting will begin promptly at 12:00 noon (Eastern Time) and should end by 3:00 pm (Eastern Time).  Lunch will be served prior to the meeting.  

Guest Speakers 

We are very pleased to add the following guest speakers to our agenda: 

  • Brian M. Johnson, Assistant Director, Investment Company Regulation Office, Division of Investment Management, SEC;
  • Angela Mokodean, Senior Counsel, Investment Company Regulation Office, Division of Investment Management, SEC; and
  • John Foley, Senior Counsel, Investment Company Regulation Office, Division of Investment Management, SEC 

The SEC speakers will discuss various rulemaking initiatives that will affect closed-end funds, including the SEC’s “fund-of-funds,” “test-the-waters,” and closed-end offering reform proposals.  They will join our previously announced guest speakers: 

  • Rose DiMartino, Retired Partner, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP; and
  • James G. Silk, Partner, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP 

Draft Agenda 

A draft agenda for the meeting is attached.  Meeting materials and a final agenda will be circulated via email to members registered for the meeting on Wednesday, April 17.
