As you may recall, the Institute’s next meeting of our Chief Risk Officer Committee is scheduled for Wednesday, November 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at ICI’s offices at 1401 H Street N.W. in Washington, D.C. Please note that the day prior to our meeting, on Tuesday, November 27, we are holding a joint meeting of the CRO Committee and ICI’s Internal Audit Committee.  That joint meeting will take place from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. at ICI’s offices. The joint meeting will be followed by a joint dinner of both committees beginning with cocktails at 6:30 p.m.

While there is no cost to attend either the CRO or the joint committee meeting, you must register to attend them so we have an accurate head count. There is a charge of $115 to attend the joint committee dinner, which must be paid at the time of registration. You may register for the meeting and/or dinner through the following link: www.ici.org/reg/cro. At the time of registration you will be asked to provide input regarding the meeting agenda.

In addition to discussing any issues submitted by members for the CRO meeting, we are expecting the agenda to include: (1) a member-led discussion of information governance (i.e., managing the life cycle of data; (2) a discussion of risk culture; and (3) a presentation from an outside speaker on applying ERM to an evolving organization. With respect to the agenda for the joint committee meeting with the Internal Audit Committee, we are expecting to have a presentation on and a discussion of the audit and risk issues relating to the use of cloud technology – both before a move to the cloud, during a move, and following a move.
