As previously advised,[1] on 12 March 2018 the European Commission (“the Commission”) published a proposed Regulation[2] and a proposed Directive[3] (“the proposed legislation”) to facilitate the cross-border distribution of investment funds in the EU.[4] ICI Global has lauded the Commission’s proposals but recommended changes[5] to the proposed legislation as it is considered by the Council of the EU (“the Council”) and by the European Parliament (“the Parliament”).

On 24 September 2018 at 2pm BST/9am ET, ICI Global will hold a member call to discuss the Council’s general approach[6] on the proposed Regulation[7] and the proposed Directive,[8] and the draft report that is due to have been published by MEP Wolf Klinz (ALDE),[9] the rapporteur for the proposed legislation[10] in the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) of the Parliament.
