As we previously informed you, ICI will host an in-person meeting of the Bank-Affiliated Member Advisory Committee on Thursday, June 28. The meeting will be held at ICI’s offices at 1401 H Street, NW, Washington, DC, beginning at 10 am Eastern and concluding no later than 1 pm Eastern. Lunch will be served. A draft agenda for the meeting is attached.
We are pleased to announce that Ian Katz of Capital Alpha will join us for part of the meeting to discuss the policy environment and its implications for banking regulation. Capital Alpha describes itself as “an independent research boutique specializing in the investment implications of government actions.” Ian’s areas of focus include banking, asset management and insurance. The meeting also will include a working session on the recently issued proposal to amend the Volcker Rule implementing regulations. Following an overview of the proposal and the preamble discussion of regulated funds, the group will discuss ICI’s recent recommendations to regulators and how those should be reflected in ICI’s comment letter on the proposal (as well as the overall scope of the comment letter).
