July 17, 2017 TO: Bank-Affiliated Member Advisory Committee RE: Committee Information and Upcoming Events for Bank-Affiliated Members
We were pleased that many of you were able to attend the June 29 meeting of the Bank-Affiliated Member Advisory Committee (formerly, the Bank-Affiliated Adviser Group) and we thank you again for coming. Below are some follow-up items we wanted to share with the entire Committee.
Committee Information
Committee Webpage. Now that we have elevated the status of the group to a formal ICI Committee, there is a dedicated Committee page on ICI’s website. There you can find a list of Committee members with email addresses and phone numbers, links to ICI memos sent to the Committee, and other Committee-related information.
“Colleague Access” gives Committee representatives the ability to designate up to three co-workers (i.e., non-committee members) for online access to view Committee materials and to receive notification of memos addressed to the Committee via ICI Daily. Only Committee representatives (not alternates or substitutes) can activate Colleague Access and colleagues must be employed by the Committee member’s firm. For more information, contact ICI’s Membership Department.
Committee Member Recruitment. We encourage Committee members to let us know if you have contacts at other bank-affiliated ICI member firms who might be interested in joining the Committee.
Future Committee Events
Guest speakers. Two OCC staff members addressed the Committee at the June 29 meeting. Committee members expressed interest in continuing to invite regulators to speak at in-person Committee meetings in the future. We welcome your specific suggestions.
Committee conference calls. There was agreement that it would be useful to schedule an interim conference call before the Committee’s next in-person meeting. We plan to hold a Committee call on Wednesday, September 20, at 2:00 pm eastern time, and will solicit discussion topics shortly after Labor Day. In addition, we will schedule issue-specific calls with the Committee on an as-needed basis (e.g., to discuss a possible ICI response if and when the federal financial regulators issue an advance notice of proposed rulemaking on the Volcker Rule, as we understand is under consideration).
December 14 meeting. As we announced previously, the next in-person meeting of the Committee will take place on Thursday, December 14 at ICI’s offices in Washington, DC.
