June 9, 2017 TO: Tax Committee RE: Preliminary Agendas for June 21 and 22 Tax Committee Meetings in Santa Monica, California
As we previously informed you,[1] the next meeting of the ICI Tax Committee will be held on Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22 in Santa Monica, CA. Dimensional Fund Advisors will be hosting the meetings at its offices (located at 1299 Ocean Avenue, Suite 150).
The meeting on Wednesday, June 21 will begin at 2:00 p.m. The meeting on Thursday, June 22 will begin at 9:00 a.m. Lunch will be served both days; breakfast will be available on Thursday.
The meeting on Wednesday, June 21 will focus on a legislative proposal (the Modernization of Derivatives Act of 2017) for taxing derivatives and on various other issues regarding the taxation of financial products. Experts from several professional services firms will join us for the Wednesday meeting. The June 22 meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will focus on all tax issues of interest to the industry. Preliminary agendas for both meetings are attached.

Willkie Farr & Gallagher and PwC have graciously offered to secure tickets for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game on Wednesday, June 21 against the New York Mets. If you choose not to attend the baseball game, dinner will be held at a nearby restaurant. We plan to start dinner at approximately 6:00 p.m. If you plan to attend the baseball game or dinner, you must register at our registration site; the cost of the dinner will be $105.00. Full refunds will be made to anyone canceling a dinner reservation by 3:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Thursday, June 15.
Further details are forthcoming for the dinner location.
Meeting attendees are eligible for approximately 7.00 hours of CPE credit (Taxation). The Investment Company Institute is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (“NASBA”) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
