April 5, 2017 TO: ICI Global Regulated Funds Committee
Below please find information about the upcoming ICI/EFAMA Meeting and International Committee Dinner, including the meeting agenda. If you have not already done so, please register for these events at your earliest convenience.
ICI/EFAMA Joint Meeting: The annual joint meeting of ICI’s International Committee and the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) will be held on Tuesday, May 2. The meeting will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Rd N.W., Washington, DC, 20008 from 12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Lunch will be served prior to the meeting, beginning at noon. Members of the International Investment Funds Association are also invited to join this meeting. At the meeting, we generally discuss current financial regulatory reforms impacting funds and managers, typically with a focus on the United States and Europe. A detailed agenda is attached.
International Committee Dinner: The annual dinner for International Committee members and international guests attending the GMM will be held on Tuesday, May 2, at the District Kitchen Restaurant, 2606 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The restaurant is a short walk from the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.

General Membership Meeting and Other Conferences: ICI’s General Membership Meeting, as well as the Mutual Funds Compliance Programs Conference, the Operations and Technology Conference and the IDC’s Fund Directors Workshop will be held on May 3-5 (Wednesday – Friday) at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. As in prior years, attendees that register for GMM will have access to GMM as well as the other conferences. This combination of events provides exceptional opportunities to hear from experts and industry leaders on a variety of topics.
Once again, we have a very exciting program. Confirmed speakers for this year include (1) Stanley A. McChrystal, General (Ret.), United States Army, and cofounder and partner of The McChrystal Group, who will provide public policy insights addressing national security, counterterrorism, crisis management, and leadership; (2) Jeff Immelt, chairman, GE, who will engage in a conversation with ICI President and CEO Paul Schott Stevens about the global economy, political realities, technological change, and workforce challenges; and (3) Ian Bremmer, noted political scientist, author, and analyst, who will discuss today’s global political risks and examine how political developments can move markets.
