The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC or Commission) recently voted to renew the Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee’s (EMSAC) charter until August 2017 with the current membership.[1] The SEC’s decision comes on the heels of ICI’s letter—submitted in October—urging the Commission to renew the EMSAC’s charter to ensure that the Commission and its staff will continue to benefit from the expertise of this Committee.[2] Without the renewal, the Committee’s charter would have expired in February 2017.
