Independent Accountants Advisory RE: Accounting/Treasurers Committee Meeting - December 1, 2016

 

A joint meeting of the Accounting/Treasurers Committee and the Independent Accountants Advisory Group has been scheduled for Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, NW, Washington, DC. The meeting will be held in the David Silver Conference Room on the 12th floor at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time. Light breakfast will be available prior to the meeting. The meeting is expected to conclude at approximately 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be served after the conclusion of the meeting.

We are pleased to announce that Matt Giordano, Chief Accountant in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management will attend the meeting and brief the committee on recently adopted forms and rule amendments relating to fund reporting modernization.

Please note that due to enhanced building security procedures, meeting attendees will need to check in at the lobby security desk, who will provide elevator access to the ICI offices. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting to avoid delay in accessing the Institute offices. If you arrive at the building after the meeting begins, please call the ICI’s main reception number at 202-326-5800 and request an escort to the committee meeting room. To facilitate your entrance into the building, please remember to register for the meeting.

Hotel Accommodations

A block of rooms has been reserved for meeting attendees at the Grand Hyatt Washington located at 1000 H Street NW, Washington, DC for the evening of Wednesday, November 30. The room rate is $279 plus tax. To make a reservation, please call the hotel at 1-888-421-1442 and ask for a room in the Investment Company Institute block of rooms. Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible as rooms are limited. All reservations must be made before the cutoff date of November 8 to receive the room block rate. Reservations must be cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid penalty.

Continuing Professional Education Credit

Meeting attendees are eligible for 3 hours of CPE credit (Taxation, Accounting/Auditing, and Specialized Knowledge and Applications). The Investment Company Institute is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
