August 21, 1991 TO: STATE SECURITIES MEMBERS NO. 37-91 UNIT INVESTMENT TRUST MEMBERS NO. 36-91 RE: ALASKA REGULATIONS ADOPT NEW FEE STRUCTURE __________________________________________________________ Earlier this year, H.B. 210 amending the Alaska Securities Act was passed which provided that fees related to registration would be established by rule. The Institute has just received the attached rules which have been promulgated by the Department of Commerce and Economic Development in Alaska, effective September 8, 1991. The rules increase the amount of fees required for the registration of securities. The filing fee will increase from $50 to $100; the registration fee will remain at 1/10 of 1% of the aggregate offering price as before, but will double the minimum and maximum fees to $100 and $3000. Additionally, the annual fee for broker-dealer registration will increase from $125 to $200 and for agents and investment advisers from $50 to $75. A copy of the notice and rules are attached.
