The May meetings of the International Committee and the ICI Global Regulated Funds Committee are fast approaching. Information about each of these events is provided below and preliminary agendas are attached. If you have not yet done so, please register for these events at your earliest convenience.
Committee Meeting: ICI’s International Committee and the ICI Global Regulated Funds Committee will hold a meeting from 1–3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 16th at the Institute’s offices, 1401 H Street, NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC. Lunch will be available beginning at 12:30 p.m. A preliminary agenda is attached. You may register for this meeting at http://www.ici.org/reg/intl.
Committee Dinner with International Guests: The annual dinner for committee members and international guests attending GMM will be held on the evening of Monday, May 16th. The dinner will be held at the Darlington House Restaurant, 1610 20th Street, NW, Washington, DC beginning at 6:30 p.m. (walking distance from the Washington Hilton Hotel). ICI/EFAMA Joint Meeting: The annual joint meeting of ICI’s International Committee and the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) will be held on Tuesday, May 17th at the Hilton Hotel, Jefferson Room (Concourse Level). Member associations of the International Investment Funds Association are also invited to join this meeting. The meeting will take place from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. Breakfast will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served during the meeting. A preliminary agenda is attached. Please register for the joint meeting at http://www.ici.org/reg/efama.
Please note that the location of this meeting has changed. Our original notice stated that it was taking place at ICI’s offices. The meeting is now taking place at the Washington Hilton Hotel, the venue for GMM.
General Membership Meeting and Other Conferences: GMM, as well as the Mutual Funds Compliance Programs Conference, the Operations and Technology Conference, and the IDC’s Fund Directors Workshop will be held on May 18-20 at the Washington Hilton Hotel. As in prior years, attendees that register for GMM will have access to GMM as well as the other conferences. This combination of events provides exceptional opportunities to hear from experts and industry leaders on a variety of topics. Confirmed speakers include (i) Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies, and former mayor of New York City, who will discuss public policy priorities and share business insights; (ii) Liz Ann Sonders, senior vice president and chief investment strategist, Charles Schwab & Co., who will explore key investment opportunities and trends; and (iii) Charlie Cook and Stuart Rothenberg, well-known authorities on U.S. elections, who will provide insights about current political developments and a provocative look ahead to the 2016 presidential election.
