TO: TAX COMMITTEE No. 23-15ADVISER DISTRIBUTOR TAX ISSUES TASK FORCE No. 12-15 RE: CALL TO DISCUSS INDIA MAT ISSUE & CASTLETON INTERVENTION
On Wednesday May 27th at 1:00 p.m., Eastern there will be a call to discuss the Indian minimum alternate tax and the possibility of the ICI intervening in the Castleton case before the Indian Supreme Court on behalf of members.
The ICI has been in discussions with the Asian Securities Industry and Financial Market Association (ASFIMA), the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA), and the Investment Association (IMA) regarding the possibility of coordinating a single multi-association intervention.
Our understanding is that any intervention will need to be filed by June 28th. In order to provide sufficient time for drafting the intervention, ASIFMA and EFAMA are on an accelerated timeline to select counsel.
