SEC Advisory Committee Meeting Scheduled for May 13; Conference Call Scheduled for April 24 to Discuss Agenda

TO: EQUITY MARKETS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 5-15 RE: SEC ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MAY 13; CONFERENCE CALL SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 24 TO DISCUSS AGENDA

 

The SEC has announced that its recently formed Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, May 13.  The meeting will focus on Rule 611 of SEC Regulation NMS, i.e., the “Order Protection Rule” or “Trade-Through Rule.”  The meeting will be held at the SEC’s headquarters and is open to the public.  It also will be webcast live on the SEC’s website, www.sec.gov, and will be archived on the website for later viewing.  The SEC press release announcing the meeting, including its agenda, is attached.

The SEC is welcoming comment on the issues to be discussed at the meeting and has stated that information that is submitted will become part of the meeting’s public record.  ICI has scheduled a conference call for this Friday, April 24 at 2pm Eastern to discuss Rule 611 and a potential ICI letter to the SEC in advance of the meeting.
