TO: SEC RULES COMMITTEE No. 34-14 RE: NOTICE OF SEC RULES COMMITTEE DINNER ON OCTOBER 29 AND MEETING ON OCTOBER 30, 2014

 

The next meeting of the SEC Rules Committee will take place on Thursday, October 30th. This is an in-person meeting to be held at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H St., N.W., 12th Floor, Washington, D.C., in the David Silver Conference Room.  As with past October meetings, we are planning a full-day program beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST and ending by 3:30 p.m. EST.

Members of the SEC Rules Committee are encouraged also to attend the Committee dinner on Wednesday, October 29th (details below).

We are pleased to announce our two outside speakers for the meeting:  Drew Bowden, Director of the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations; and Diane Blizzard, Associate Director for the Rulemaking Office in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management.  A draft meeting agenda will be circulated prior to the meeting date.

Committee Dinner

A cocktail reception and dinner will be held the evening of Wednesday, October 29th at Woodward Table, 1426 H Street NW, Washington D.C.  The reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m.  If you plan to attend, please register as directed below.  Dinner attendees will be charged $105.00.  Please note that if you cancel within 72 hours of the dinner, your payment will not be refunded. 

Meeting Registration

Please register for the meeting at www.ici.org/reg/sec.  In completing the online registration, please provide any suggested topics for discussion at the meeting.  To assist with our planning, we request that you register by October 23, 2014.  If you have questions about meeting logistics, please contact Helenia Walker at (202) 326-5823 or helenia.walker@ici.org.

Hotel Accommodations

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza, 1001 14th St., N.W., Washington, D.C. for October 29th at a rate of $299.00 per night.  To make reservations please contact the hotel directly at (877) 270-1393 or online at Investment Company Institute: October 29th.  When making your reservation, please mention ICI or Investment Company Institute to receive the discounted rate.  Due to the limited number of rooms, we urge you to make your reservation as soon as possible.  Reservations must be guaranteed by October 8th.  Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance to avoid penalty.
