TO: ACCOUNTING/TREASURERS COMMITTEE No. 18-14
We are pleased to announce that ICI is forming a Registered Fund CPO Advisory Committee. This Committee will focus on issues affecting investment advisers that are registered as commodity pool operators (CPOs) or commodity trading advisors (CTAs) for one or more registered investment companies (funds). The Committee also will provide a forum for issues relating to the CPO exclusion for fund advisers in Rule 4.5 under the Commodity Exchange Act.
The Committee will hold two meetings per year, one in person and one by phone. During the quarters in which no meeting is held, the Committee may hold conference calls to receive updates from ICI staff and discuss issues raised by members. The Committee may schedule additional meetings and/or conference calls as necessary.
The first in-person meeting of the Committee will be held on Tuesday, October 14 from 12:00-3:30 pm in the ICI’s offices in Washington, D.C. Lunch will be served.
Each ICI member firm may have up to three representatives on the Committee. In addition, up to three co-workers from the same firm may be designated for online access to view committee materials and to receive notification of memos addressed to the Committee via ICI Daily.
If you wish to join the Registered Fund CPO Advisory Committee, please contact Den-Ny Hwang, Membership Assistant, at den-ny.hwang@ici.org.
Suggestions for the October 14 meeting agenda should be sent to Rachel Graham at rgraham@ici.org and Sarah Bessin at sarah.bessin@ici.org.
We look forward to your participation.
