Committee Name Change and Reminder of November 14th Meeting and September 18th Quartly Committee Call

TO: CHIEF RISK OFFICER COMMITTEE No. 4-13 RE: COMMITTEE NAME CHANGE AND REMINDER OF NOVEMBER 14th MEETING AND SEPTEMBER 18th QUARTERLY COMMITTEE CALL

 

This memorandum is to inform you of a recent name change of the Committee and remind you of (1) the next in-person Committee meeting on November 14th and (2) the next quarterly conference call of the Committee on September 18th.  As regards the name change, to better reflect its membership and mission, the Institute has changed the name of the “Risk Management Committee” to the “Chief Risk Officer Committee” (“CRO Committee”).  This change was effective August 1, 2013.  The mission and membership criteria for the Committee remain unchanged.

As regards upcoming Committee events, the next in-person meeting of the Committee will be held at the Institute’s offices in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, November 14th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Please note that the time of the meeting has been extended from the May 29th save-the-date memo I sent out because we have decided to hold a joint meeting of the CRO Committee and the ICI’s Internal Audit Advisory Committee from 9 a.m.-noon that day, followed by a meeting exclusively of the CRO Committee from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m.  At the joint meeting, we are planning to hear from an expert on cyber security issues, in addition to having an informal discussion of the Committees’ members on a topic of joint interest.  For those of you who will be in Washington the evening of Wednesday, November 13th, please plan to join us for an informal dinner of the two Committees.

More information about the Committee meeting and informal dinner, including an RSVP form, will be sent to you in late September.  In the meantime, please save these dates on your calendar.  Also, please remember that the next quarterly call of the Chief Risk Officer Committee will be held on Wednesday, September 18th from 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. [Eastern].  As with our other calls, the agenda will consist of topics raised by members.  In early September, I will send an email to the Committee soliciting issues for the call agenda.  In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
