TO: SECURITIES OPERATIONS ADVISORY GROUP RE: FORMATION OF SOAG - INITIAL CONFERENCE CALL SET FOR NOVEMBER 9, 2012 AT 2:00 P.M. ET
The Institute is pleased to announce the formation of the Securities Operations Advisory Group (SOAG). As was explained in our invitation to members, the primary objective of the SOAG is to provide advice and input to the Institute on current regulatory and industry initiatives affecting portfolio securities operations for mutual funds [1]. Attached for your reference is the roster of participating SOAG members thus far.
As a SOAG member you will have access to the ICI member web site and the SOAG web page [2]. The SOAG webpage contains the contact information for fellow committee members, the SOAG profile, information about events, SOAG member memoranda, and links to resources for SOAG issues and other resources available on the ICI member website.
Please mark your calendars - the SOAG’s first conference call is scheduled for Friday, November 9, 2012 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET. The dial-in number for the call is 888-324-3812 and the pass code is 46418. An agenda will be circulated prior to the call, but the primary topic for discussion will be the cost-benefit analysis completed by the Boston Consulting Group that was commissioned by the DTCC, which presents options for shortening the settlement cycle for U.S. equities, corporate and municipal bonds. Institute staff is preparing a summary of the analysis that will be circulated in the next few days and will be used as a reference point for the call.
Finally, welcome to the Securities Operations Advisory Group. We appreciate your participation and we look forward to working with each of you on issues affecting mutual fund securities operations.
