The next meeting of the Institute’s International Committee will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. The meeting will be held at the Institute’s offices in Washington, D.C. and in London (hosted by Capital International).
The meeting will begin at 12 p.m. Eastern time and 5 p.m. London time and will last for approximately 2 hours. Susan Olson, Senior Counsel – International Affairs, and Jane Heinrichs, Senior Associate Counsel – Securities Regulation, will be attending the meeting in London. Lunch will be available at the U.S. location before the meeting.
A preliminary agenda for the International Committee meeting is attached. We are expecting a full meeting and, as always, welcome your active participation. We have arranged for the following guest speakers:
- Tim Wright, a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (London), will present on how remuneration codes in the EU could apply to funds and asset managers, particularly those with global operations.
- Orlando Fernández, Governance, Risk Management & Remuneration, Financial Services Authority, will also provide insights on this issue.
In addition, ICI attorneys will provide an update on recent initiatives relating to the regulation of derivatives outside the United States and cross-border application of U.S. derivatives regulation, as well as U.S. and international money market fund developments. We will also cover other timely topics, including highlights from ICI’s webinar on OFAC and EU sanctions, ongoing India issues, and revisions to China’s QFII regime. Lastly, we will leave time for Committee members to raise issues on which they wish to seek input from other members. We encourage members to contact us ahead of time with issues that they want to discuss, or to raise issues during the meeting.
