TO: VARIABLE INSURANCE PRODUCTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 5-11 RE: REMINDER: VARIABLE INSURANCE PRODUCTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING ON DECEMBER 12, 2011 - GUEST SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED
The next meeting of the Variable Insurance Products Advisory Committee will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011, at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, N.W., 12th Floor, Washington, DC. The meeting will begin at 12:00 p.m. Eastern time. in the 12th Floor Conference Room and should conclude no later than 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be served at approximately 1:00 p.m. The preliminary agenda for the meeting is attached to this memorandum.
We are pleased to announce that we will have two sets of guest speakers at the meeting. Susan Nash, Associate Director, and Bill Kotapish, Assistant Director, of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management will be joining us to discuss recent SEC initiatives in the insurance products area. John Walsh, Partner, Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP will be speaking to us about examination and compliance issues for insurance products. As many of you know, John was most recently Chief Counsel of the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations.
