TO: TAX COMMITTEE No. 68-11 RE: TAX COMMITTEE CONFERENCE CALLS ON NOVEMBER 9 AND 15
The Tax Committee, as was decided at yesterday’s meeting, will hold conference calls on Wednesday, November 9, and Tuesday, November 15, to continue the Committee’s consideration of important issues. Both calls will begin at 2:00 p.m. (EST).
The November 9 call will address implementation issues arising under the RIC Modernization Act. [1] Please forward to Karen (kgibian@ici.org), Pinank (pinank.desai@ici.org) and me (lawson@ici.org) examples of any implementation issues that you have discovered.
During the November 15 call, the Committee will discuss the proposed regulations regarding section 1256’s application to notional principal contracts and similar agreements [2] and those issues that ICI should include in a comment letter to be filed by December 15. Please provide Pinank (pinank.desai@ici.org or 202/326-5876) with any suggestions that you have for the letter. We will circulate before the call an outline of possible issues for inclusion in the ICI’s letter.
