As we informed you previously, the next meetings of the Tax Committee will be held on Monday, October 11th, and Tuesday, October 12th. [1] The October 11th meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m., and focus on the international tax compliance initiative known as “FATCA”, tax issues arising from the proposed changes to Rule 12b-1, and perhaps one other issue of general interest to the Committee. The October 12th meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m., and involve a discussion of all issues of interest to the Tax Committee, including the ICI’s tax agenda and recent legislative and regulatory developments. Lunch will be served at 1:00 p.m. on Monday and at the conclusion of the meeting on Tuesday.
The meetings will be held (due to construction within the ICI’s offices) at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza. This hotel, which is located on the corner of 14th and K Streets (NW), is only two blocks from the ICI. Please note that the McPherson Square Station (the station closest to the ICI’s offices) on the Washington Metro’s blue and orange lines will be closed on Monday (only) for maintenance.
