TO: SEC RULES COMMITTEE No. 36-10 RE: NOTICE OF SEC RULES COMMITTEE MEETING AND DINNER ON OCTOBER 27-28, 2010; OFFSITE MEETING LOCATION

 

An extended, in-person meeting of the SEC Rules Committee has been scheduled for Thursday, October 28th.  Please note that the meeting will be held at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center, 775 12th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. (located just a few blocks from the ICI offices).  As we have done for the past few October meetings, we are planning a special, full-day program.  The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time and end by 3:30 p.m.

We are pleased to announce that Andrew “Buddy” Donohue, Director of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, and Carlo diFlorio, Director of the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, will be our guest speakers.  A draft meeting agenda will be circulated before the meeting.

We would appreciate your input on topics you would like to discuss at the meeting, so you will be prompted to provide them when you register as described below.  Your suggestions will help us ensure that we address the issues of greatest interest.  Additional meeting details are provided below.

Committee Dinner

A cocktail reception and dinner will be held the evening of Wednesday, October 27th at

Bobby Van’s Steakhouse, 1201 New York Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.  If you plan to attend, please register as directed below.  All participants will be charged $85.  Please note that if you cancel within 72 hours of the reception and dinner, your payment will not be refunded.

Meeting Registration

Please register for the meeting on our registration site at http://members.ici.org/reg/secrules.  In completing the online registration form, please provide any suggested topics for discussion at the meeting.  To assist with our planning, we request that you register by October 6th.  If you have any questions about meeting logistics, please contact Gwen Kelly at 202/326-5818 or gwen.kelly@ici.org.

Hotel Accommodations

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center, 775 12th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. for the evening of October 27th at a rate of $309.00 per night.  To make reservations, please call the hotel at 800/228-9290 or 202/737-2200 and mention that you are an Investment Company Institute meeting attendee.  Please note that due to the limited number of rooms, all reservations must be guaranteed by October 6th to receive the discounted rate.  Reservations must be cancelled at least 72 hours in advance to avoid penalty.
