Featured Speakers, Schedule, and Draft Agenda for October 28-29 SEC Rules Committee Meeting and Dinner

TO: SEC RULES COMMITTEE No. 61-09     RE: FEATURED SPEAKERS, SCHEDULE, AND DRAFT AGENDA FOR OCTOBER 28-29 SEC RULES COMMITTEE MEETING AND DINNER

 

As previously announced, an extended, in-person meeting of the SEC Rules Committee is scheduled for Thursday, October 29th with a dinner on October 28th.  The meeting will be held at ICI’s offices at 1401 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.  Please note the following schedule change:  the meeting will begin at 8:45 a.m.  It will end at approximately 3:30 p.m.

 

A Schedule of Events and a draft Committee Agenda are attached.  We are pleased to highlight the following:

  • There will be an informal question and answer session at the beginning of the meeting with SEC Division of Investment Management Director Andrew Donohue and Associate Directors Barry Miller, Susan Nash, Elizabeth Osterman, and Bob Plaze.  Please come prepared with questions for the staff, or you may send questions to me at frances@ici.org before the meeting.
     
  • John Walsh, Acting Director of the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations, will be our luncheon speaker.
     
  • Don Auerbach and Dean Sackett, ICI’s Co-Heads of Government Affairs, will speak at the Committee Dinner on October 28th.

 

Closer to the meeting date, we will distribute the small group discussion topics, group assignments, and meeting materials by email to those who have registered for the meeting.

 

If you have not already done so, please register for the meeting and dinner on our registration site at http://members.ici.org/reg/secrules. The dinner will be held at Mio Restaurant, 1110 Vermont Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., with a cocktail reception beginning at 6:30 p.m.  As previously indicated, all dinner participants will be charged $85.  Please note that if you cancel within 72 hours of the dinner, your payment will not be refunded.

 

We look forward to seeing you on October 28th and 29th.
