Target date funds have been the subject of recent regulatory and media interest and the Institute formed a working group of members to address the issues that have been raised. To enhance understanding of target date funds, the Institute has published Frequently Asked Questions About Target Date or Lifecycle Funds. The FAQs address a range of topics, including the meaning of the date in a target date fund name, why the asset allocations in funds with the same target date might vary, and how target date funds are regulated. FAQs are available to members and the general public on ICI’s website: http://www.ici.org/faqs/faqs_target_date.
