Notice 2009-43 [1] invites public comment on recommendations for Treasury’s 2009-2010 Guidance Priority List. The Institute plans to submit a letter recommending tax and pension items to be included on the list by the Notice’s deadline of May 31, 2009. [2]
Attached for your review is a draft Institute letter requesting the inclusion of several guidance projects on the 2009-2010 Guidance Priority List. Our submission will cover the following three categories: (1) issues for regulated investment companies (“RICs”) and their shareholders; (2) education savings issues; and (3) retirement security issues. The attachment to this memorandum includes only items relating to retirement security.
